The popular football podcast 90 Minutes is coming to Gent for a special live show this autumn. The program, a co-production between Sporza and Friends of Sports, announced the tour this week, as reported by Sporza Voetbal. The tour will visit five cities, including Gent, offering fans the chance to see their favourite analysts in person discussing the latest developments in the Jupiler Pro League.
The podcast, which reviews football news after each match weekend, is returning for the upcoming months as the new season kicks off. The live shows will be hosted by a rotating quintet from the regular group of hosts, including Gilles De Coster, Filip Joos, Sam Kerkhofs, Daan Heymans, Steven Defour, Tuur Dierckx, Joris Brys, Wesley Sonck and Gilles Mbiye-Beya. "90 minutes is een coproductie tussen Sporza en Friends of Sports," a program spokesperson said.
Where and when are the live shows?
In addition to Gent, shows are also scheduled for Mechelen, Genk, Kortrijk and Leuven. Exact dates and venues for each city will be announced later, but fans can already reserve tickets. The organisers expect the shows to sell out quickly, given the podcast's popularity which draws thousands of weekly listeners.
For KAA Gent supporters, the announcement comes at a perfect time. The club is currently third in the Jupiler Pro League with nine points from three games and a perfect winning streak (WWW). With six goals scored and two conceded (+4 goal difference), Gent is just three points behind leaders Charleroi. The strong form makes the podcast discussions even more relevant for local fans.
Who are the podcast hosts?
The strength of 90 Minutes lies in the diverse mix of experienced experts. Each episode brings a different combination of these analysts together, providing fresh perspectives on events in the Belgian league. From former internationals like Steven Defour and Wesley Sonck to journalists like Filip Joos and sharp commentators like Tuur Dierckx, the panel covers a wide spectrum of knowledge.
This live edition offers a unique chance to experience the chemistry between these voices in person. It promises to be an interactive evening where the audience can also ask questions and debate the hot topics of the moment, such as the title race in which Gent itself is involved.
How does this fit into Gent's current season?
The show's arrival in Gent coincides with a busy and successful period for the club. Beyond the strong league start, the team is also dealing with some absences. Hyllarion Goore and Matisse Samoise are currently sidelined, making conversations about squad depth particularly timely. Fans can follow all current statistics and injury updates on our standings and injuries pages.
The next major test for Gent is the home match against STVV on 12 December 2026. That clash against the current tenth-placed team will undoubtedly be a topic of discussion during the live show. All upcoming fixtures can be found in our fixtures calendar.
Tickets for the 90 Minutes live show in Gent are now on sale. The evening promises to be a must for any fan wanting to delve deeper into the workings of KAA Gent and the rest of the league, while the club itself holds a strong position in the title race.
