Gent begin their UEFA Conference League group stage campaign on Thursday evening with a home match against Danish side Aarhus. The match kicks off at 18:45 and will be broadcast live on Play Sports 4 for subscribers.
The team managed by coach Rik De Mil enters the European campaign with confidence. Gent currently sit top of the Jupiler Pro League with 22 points from eight games and have not lost a match since mid-October. Their latest victory was a 0-2 away win at Zulte Waregem last Saturday, with goals from Ibrahima Cisse and Mike Trésor Balikwisha.
Strong Momentum
This strong domestic form provides a solid platform for the European adventure. "Things are going well for KAA Gent," was noted. The club qualified for the group stage via three qualifying rounds, while Aarhus entered via the Champions League qualification path, where they faced the likes of Benfica. The Danish side, however, is in poorer form and sits eleventh in the Superliga.
The focus is now entirely on Thursday. "The match against Aarhus starts at 18:45," is the practical advice for fans. Following this European fixture, Gent face a key league match against Anderlecht, who visit on Saturday 25 October. The full schedule is available online.
Rik De Mil's squad is fully fit and can count on top scorer Josue Vergara, who has three goals this season. The defence, which has conceded only four goals, provides a solid foundation. Fans can always check the current squad list and stats to monitor player form.
