Young AA Gent started the league with a loss to Beerschot on Kiel. The team came on top, but Beerschot could catch up and eventually won 4-0. The coach of Young AA Gent, Lars Cooman, said that the team must draw lessons from the match to improve in the future. 'We must draw lessons from this match, so we can take new steps in our development as a team in the lead-up to the next match against Sporting Hasselt.' Gent's young players created some danger, but Beerschot had it not under control with Young AA Gent. The team now waits for a free weekend, but will then play a friendly match against Racing Gent. 'It may give us a double feeling. Somewhere you want to quickly grab the chance to recover after a loss, but at the same time we now get ample opportunity to tackle some work points.', said Cooman.
