Uncertain Future for Max Dean
Max Dean could return to his homeland this summer. The 22-year-old centre-forward has once again caught the attention of English clubs, but KAA Gent appears reluctant to part ways with their player for any price.
Bolton Wanderers FC reportedly made a bid of £1 million (approximately €1.2 million) that was rejected by KAA Gent's agent. This offer is still below the amount KAA Gent paid two years ago, around €1.5 million, to bring Dean from MK Dons.
Contract and Recent Performance
Dean’s contract with KAA Gent runs until mid-2028, giving the club a strong negotiating position. However, his absence in the starting lineup for the crucial match against IFK Göteborg suggests that his future remains uncertain.
Despite this, Dean has made significant contributions to the team. After overcoming a serious knee injury, he played 56 matches and scored 20 goals with three assists. His first competitive goal was celebrated with a provocative celebration after scoring against Club Brugge, earning him the love of Gent’s supporters.
Interest from English Clubs
Interest in Dean is not limited to Bolton Wanderers; other Championship clubs like Millwall have also shown interest. This recent bid indicates that there is concrete interest from English clubs, but KAA Gent has made it clear they are not willing to let go of their player so easily.
