KAA Gent are interested in South African defender Malibongwe Khoza. The 22-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns international is on the radar of the Belgian club.
"KAA Gent has serious interest in Khoza," said Konür. The journalist added that other clubs are also monitoring the situation. "Besides interest from the Buffalo’s, SV Ried and FC Nantes are also keeping a close eye on the defender's situation."
Khoza is a regular starter for the South African champions. He started five of the first six competitive matches this season, scoring once. He made his national team debut on 8 August 2025 and has since earned four caps. He featured in the most recent Africa Cup of Nations but was not in last summer's World Cup squad.
No concrete offer has been made to Sundowns yet. Khoza is under contract there and is viewed as an established player. Gent see in him the profile of a young defender already playing a solid role at his current club.
The interest comes as Gent are enjoying a strong start to the season. The club sits second in the Jupiler Pro League with 19 points from seven games. Their last five league matches have yielded four wins and a draw. Their next fixture is an away match against Zulte Waregem on 10 October, a team currently in sixth place.
Any potential transfer is not imminent. The three interested clubs are monitoring developments around Khoza, but no agreement or official move has been made. The coming weeks will show if Gent's interest becomes concrete.
